Greetings Coaches,
We’d like to invite your team to the 8th annual Granada Distance & Sprint Festival. This will be an excellent opportunity for runners to earn fast times as they test their fitness against some of California’s top athletes. The meet design is ideal for FAST TIMES:
Athletes are seeded by ability creating intense head-to-head competition.
The morning Distance session will offer cooler temperatures.
The afternoon Sprint session benefits dashers as conditions heat up.
We will once again offer 1 heat each of the boys and girls 4x800m as well as a limited number of entries for pole vault and high jump.
TRACK EVENTS
Morning Distance Session: 3200, 800, 1600
Afternoon Sprint Session: 4X100, 400, 4×800, 100, 100/110 Hurdles
FIELD EVENTS
Shot Put & Discus Throw top 40 entries. Long Jump top 24 entries. Pole Vault top 16 entries. High Jump top 16 entries.
THROWS
We will have weigh-ins starting at 8:15
First flight check-ins and warm ups will begin at 8:45.
Competition will begin at 9:00
Girls will begin on shot. Boys on Disc
Competitors will receive 4 attempts.
Winner of each flight will receive a medal.
DIVISIONS: Girls and Boys.
SEEDING: The track heats will be seeded by entry times. We will accept the top 40 entries in the throwing events. Top 24 entries in long jump. Top 16 entries in pole vault and high jump.
ENTRY INFORMATION
All entries will be done through Athletic.net. Coaches must use an entry mark from the current 2026 season for seeding purposes. Athletes entered without entry marks or unverifiable marks will be placed in heats by the discretion of the meet director.
NUMBER OF EVENTS: Unlimited entries per team. Athletes may compete in up to 4 events.

ENTRY FEES: $10 per athlete for the first event. $5 per athlete per individual event beyond the initial entry. $25 per relay team. Capped at $500/gender and $1000 per school. Every school must pay for every event entered at the close of entries.
Payment should be made to: Granada Supporters. (Please do not make checks out to Granada High School.) You may pay on meet day at check-in, or mail checks to: Granada High School, 400 Wall Street, Livermore, CA 94550, Attention: Noel Mattern.
AWARDS: The top 3 finishers in distance races will earn medals, while the top finisher in each lane race will earn a medal (except for the 4×100 & 4×800, in which each member of the overall fastest team from combined heat results will receive medals). The winner of each field flight will earn a medal.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Distance Festival starts at 8:00 AM. The Sprint session will begin at approximately 1:00 PM based on entries. Field events start at 9:00 AM. This schedule is subject to change based on entries.

WARM-UP AREA: Warm-ups may be done on the campus and on the track infield.
PARKING: Free parking at Granada High School as well as on the street.
FOOD/SOUVENIRS: The snack bar will be open, and t-shirts will be on sale.
ADMISSION: General admission – $10.
